Project Goals
JSC “FED” is a precision machining enterprise manufacturing complex components for the aerospace industry.
The company supplies specialized industrial customers worldwide and operates in an environment where product quality, delivery reliability, and strict cost control are critical.
To maintain competitiveness in a high-precision manufacturing segment, the company continuously invests in advanced equipment, workforce skills, and digital production management practices.
The key objective of the project was to optimize the utilization of high-cost production tools, reduce capital tied up in inventory, and ensure uninterrupted availability of critical tooling for production operations.
Project Description
IT-Enterprise implemented a SmartEAM-based tool management framework focused on lifecycle control, availability, and utilization of production tools.
All cutting tools and auxiliary equipment were registered in a centralized digital environment, enabling structured planning and operational visibility.
Tools were classified according to their criticality using ABC analysis.
Group A tools, representing approximately 5% of the total tool nomenclature, include expensive tools, tools with long procurement cycles, unstable market availability, or tools whose absence could lead to production delays or contractual penalties.
For these tools, SmartEAM supports individual tracking, usage norm calculation, and remaining resource control.
Planning logic takes into account safety stock levels, current availability in workshops and storage, and actual tool consumption per operation.
Key project factors
Results
With SmartEAM by IT-Enterprise, JSC “FED” established a transparent, real-time system for planning and controlling high-value production tools.
Production teams now have immediate access to accurate information on tool availability and condition, enabling better planning and faster response to operational needs.
Procurement of expensive tools was optimized, existing assets are used more efficiently, and unnecessary inventory accumulation was eliminated.
The solution improved on-time order execution, strengthened cost control, and ensured compliance with strict aerospace manufacturing requirements — demonstrating how SmartEAM-based tool and asset management, implemented in a high-precision industrial environment in Ukraine, is fully applicable to European aerospace and advanced manufacturing enterprises.
